  • Final performance target: Lap shear strength of 3.5 MPa or higher, tensile strength of 3 MPa or higher, heat resistance of 300°C or higher, salt resistance of 600 hours or more

  • Easy removal by electric cutter during maintenance work

  • Properties that do not flow down when applied to vertical surface and flexibility against continuous vibration

  1. Where to use: Engine fabrication, drive train, flange joints, sealants for preventing moisture inflows, etc.                     wherever need to be sealed

  2. Requirements

➀ High strength adhesion is required as the product is treated        in the space between contact surfaces to fill the space                  between flange surfaces to prevent fluid or gas leakage

    -> Lap Shear Strength of 3.5 MPa or higher and       

        Tensile Strength of 3 MPa or higher

➁ Need to resist long-term leak-free, sealed media

     without damage

-> Developed to reduce discoloration, cracks, and shrinkage       

     even during long-term exposure

     (weather resistance, anti-corrosive)

-> Salt-resistance over 600 hours: Seawater, MS polymer

     : resistant to UV, etc

➂ Flexible to withstand applied temperature, pressure,

    and fine movement due to vibration and thermal expansion           /contraction, and viscosity adjustment should be made to     

     prevent it from flowing down when applying a vertical surface

Development of a one-component coating agent to protect (shock/saline/fire/rust) the surface of the block in the ship assembly process

  • Final Performance Goals 
    : 600 hours or more of salt resistance, 60A or more in coating hardness (Shore A), 5% or less decrease in tensile strength, 
    flame-retardant UL94-V2 or higher, viscosity over 3,000 cps in satisfaction with the product performance, and aim to develop a product that is 100% peelable when removed after application.

  1. Use: Protecting steel plates in hull blocks and yardage used                        during ship assembly process

  2. Requirements
    ➀ One-component type for increased ease of working
    ➁ Quick-drying/various coating methods/initial adhesion for                 fast work time
    ➂ Adhesive property (CROSS-CUT) that does not damage the               adhered substrate even if it is peel-off after coating                             (CROSS-CUT)
    ➃ Weather resistance (less than 5% decrease in tensile strength)
    ➄ Salt water resistance test for rust prevention                                           (600 hours or more)
    ➅ Flame resistance that is resistant to welding flames                              (UL-94 V-2 or higher)
    ➆ Anti-corrosive (strong against seawater, UV, etc. / Maintains             anti-corrosive agents even when exposed for a long period)
    ➇ Adhesive surface protection/impact resistance from damage           caused by external impact                                                                              (coating hardness of 60A or higher based on Shore A)

    ➂ Drying time is more than 24 hours
    ➃ Tensile Lap shear adhesive strength 5MPa

         or more

       ➅ Heat-resistant 100℃ or higher
